Glass

Caroline Ouellette

Caroline Ouellette has been sculpting glass since 1997. In 2004, she co-founded (with Patrick Primeau) Studio Welmo, a creative space dedicated to glass. She obtained her doctor’s degree in philosophy, specializing in glass art in Adelaide, South Australia in 2014. Inspired by the delicateness and depth of the material, she sculpts glass seeking inspiration in her skin, memory and heart. Her work is found in several private and public collections including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.

Patrick Primeau

Patrick Primeau’s imagination was inspired by a visit to a glass workshop, leading him to choose glass as his material. This was in 1997. Following his studies, he worked in several workshops in Canada, the United States and in France. In 2004, with Caroline Ouellette, he co-founded Studio Welmo, a space dedicated to glass. The blown glass objects that he creates are inspired by forms he observed during marine diving. Hid work is found in the collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec as well as in several private collections
