Sculpture, ceramics and wood

With sculptures halfway between natural found objects and modelled pieces, I explore the symbiosis between humans and nature. I collect various branches and roots, then keep what makes them special by leaving some of the material intact in my creations. Inspired by their improbable and distinctive shapes, I integrate the raw aspect of the wood with body parts shaped in clay. Playing with the excessiveness of certain elements, I seek to explore the similarities and differences that make plant and animal forms unique. The result is hybrid creatures that originate in the natural world but refer to archetypes and mythology. By drawing on both the formal and symbolic connections between these two worlds, I seek to bear witness to the way in which beings are rooted in nature and their environment.
