Hélène Lessard

Contemporary painting

Originally from the Town of Saguenay, Hélène Lessard spent her childhood on the banks of the Rivière-Du-Moulin. This period made a deep impression on her and remains the source of her artistic drive and aesthetic search. Her pictorial scenes retain traces of the child-elf, always present in this nonetheless reserved woman. Nevertheless, the iconography marked by nature presents a dynamic chronometric range. It is combined with lively, melting colours in which the variations between shadow and light create contrasts. In Quebec, the United States and in Europe, whether as part of a group or in a solo exhibition, Hélène stands out in all the exhibitions in which she participates. Her works are in several private and public collections. In 2019, she won the Prix Arto, for her exhibition Paysages inspirés.
